In a national competition of over 700 education-related websites, District Administration presented Beyond Books with a 2002 District Administration Web Site Award. This national competition recognizes the education companies and organizations that host exemplary websites for curriculum applications to benefit K-12 schools. Beyond Book's online content received a Premium Award for its high-quality content and active-learning platform.

In their letter, District Administration stated, "This year's winners offer the most complex and comprehensive applications for today's school districts and students." Each site was reviewed and judged in four categories: 1) quality and appropriateness of the content; 2) quality of the instructional design; 3) quality of the interaction with the learner; and 4) creative and effective use of online technologies.

Beyond Books was selected as a winner of Media & Methods' 2001 Awards Portfolio Competition, in the category, "Internet, Online Services & Reference."

Winning products represented new quality educational materials for K-12 schools. Judges based their selections on the products' comprehensiveness, versatility, ease of use, innovation, motivation, interest, and strengths.

Praising Beyond Books' Internet-based educational content, Media & Methods stated:
