Reading Goes Beyond The Printed Page

Beyondbooks.com takes the mystery out of using the Internet for lesson preparation and student research. The site uses lively content, interactive links, chat and engaging graphics to help bring social studies, language arts, science and electives to life for both students and teacher.

The Web site adds animation, audio clips and interactive links to give textbooks greater flexibility and encourage students to learn more about the subjects they are researching.

"All content on Beyond Books is directly related to specific courses of study," says Beyond Books President James S. Cassano. "Our programs are unique in their depth, breadth and originality. Students may engage and interact with the digital content, with famous guest in live chats or with one another."

The subscription-based Web site costs about $1 per student per course per year. Students log on to the Program Page for a complete table of contents for the subjects in which they are interested. From there they can enter a Focus Page with a discussion on the chosen topic and what the student can expect to find. Next. in the Focus Page, student researchers can access in-dept material. Finally, the Links page offers additional reviewed and rated Web resources.

All Beyondbooks.com's content is curriculum-based and written by and for teacher. No commercial messages are seen on the Beyondbooks.com site, which contains content correlated to both state and national standards.
