      The University of South Carolina presents a virtual exhibit from their enormous collection on the Italian national hero Garibaldi. Take a walk through propaganda posters, commissioned paintings, Garibaldi's handwritten documents, 19th-century maps of Italy, and many more items that show the heroism of Garibaldi from his youth in South America to his revolutionary days in his Italian homeland.

      Garibaldi's charismatic personality encouraged thousands of Italian patriots to rush to his side. This website presents the text of a speech delivered by Garibaldi to his countrymen, appealing for their courage in 1860: "We shall meet again before long to march to new triumphs."
