Often, hearing a literary or historic work can illuminate its purpose or meaning in a way no simple reading can. From the blue box on a content page, click on the picture. In the new window that opens, select your choice of access to the audio file via RealAudio, Windows Media, QuickTime, or MP3 format. The text of the dialogue is also provided so students may read along while they listen.

Listening activities are included throughout the Spanish program Viaje a Través de la Lengua Española: Parte 1. In the "Bienvenidos ..." focus topics are presentations of people speaking Spanish in various settings (the Macromedia Flash plug-in is required to view these presentations.) The dialogue is broken down and repeated in the "¡Vamos a charlar!" focus topics. Click on a character icon to listen to the character speaking in Spanish. (Audio files used in this program are in .wav format.)
