The program contents page serves two purposes: it provides a means to jump between different Beyond Books programs, and it displays the complete outline for the currently selected program.

This search feature is limited to the Beyond Books website, and the search results refer only to Beyond Books content or approved links. You can access content and links only for programs to which you subscribe.
- Yellow navigation bar: At the top of every page of a program is a yellow navigation bar containing several icons. Each icon leads to a different area of Beyond Books with additional information or functions to enhance your use of the site.

To view a listing of all Beyond Books programs in this discipline (such as social studies) or this subject (such as American history), click on the discipline or subject name.
- Program outline: The outline for the currently selected program appears underneath the program navigation area. Each program has its own outline, similar to the table of contents. The numbered items in the outline, called unit areas, are broad topics. The lettered items, called focus topics, are the more specific sections of a unit area.
- About the Authors: At the very bottom of the outline is a link titled "About the Authors." Click on the link to read about the program's writers. To return to the outline, click on "Close This Window."

- To jump directly into the content of the program: Move to any specific page in a program by clicking on its title in the outline. (You do not have to begin on any particular page or move in any particular order through the program.) You will then be asked to enter your user name and password. After you type them in, click on the "Enter" button to move on to the content.
- To see the overview for a program: Click on "Introduction Page" at the top of the outline to open a page that contains a written summary of the program as well as the program outline.
