The search function allows users to search for names or topics located throughout the Beyond Books site. This search feature is limited to the Beyond Books website, and the search results refer only to Beyond Books content or approved links. You can access content and links only for programs to which you subscribe.

To reach the search page, click on the purple button "Search" at the bottom of the left-hand column of the Beyond Books homepage. When the search page has loaded, type a name or topic in the "Search for" text field, then click on "GO!"

Each page of a Beyond Books program also contains a search area at the bottom of the purple left column. To search, type a name or topic in the "Search for" text field, then click on "GO!" Search results will appear in a new browser window.

Formatting a search query

Here's how to format a search using the operators "AND" and "OR" to achieve the best results.

• Typing cat mouse finds documents containing the word "cat," or the word "mouse," or both words.

• Typing cat and mouse finds documents containing both words.

• Typing "cat and mouse" (in quotes) finds documents containing the phrase "cat and mouse."

• Typing cat or mouse finds documents containing either word (same as the first example).

• Typing cat and not mouse finds documents containing "cat" that do not contain the word "mouse."

Advanced search options

Click on the "Expert Searches" link in the left-hand column of the Search page for specific information about searching for special characters and using wildcard operators (asterisks) in searches.
