JavaScript should be enabled in your web browser for full functionality of the Beyond Books website. Java (1.1) should also be enabled, as many of our self-assessment interactives are Java based.
To enable Java and JavaScript
- Netscape Navigator: Under the "Edit" menu, choose "Preferences ..." In the Preferences menu, click on "Advanced." Select the check boxes beside both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript" if they are not already selected.
- Internet Explorer for Windows: Under the "Tools" menu, choose "Internet Options ..." Click on the "Security" tab. Click on the "Custom Level" button. Scroll down to the heading "Microsoft VM". If Java is disabled, the "Disable Java" button will be selected; to enable Java, select "High Safety." Click on "OK." The changes will take effect after Internet Explorer is restarted.
- Internet Explorer for Macintosh: Under the "Edit" menu, choose "Preferences ..." Click on "Web Browser" and then select "Java." In the area labeled "Internet Options" select the check box beside "Enable Java." Click on "OK." The changes will take effect after Internet Explorer is restarted.
