Sometimes, to truly cement the concepts they are studying, students need more extended opportunities to work with science formulas or to try their hand at writing in a particular style. The You Try It activities and story problems provide targeted writing or formula exercises and are well suited for in-class or homework assignments.

Access these items by clicking on the "You Try It" or "Solve It" button in the orange box that appears on the page containing the activity. A new browser window will open contain activity instructions.

Many activities can be submitted to teachers online. After completing the activity, students who click on "Submit to Your Desk" will then have the choice of submitting their work to their teachers or saving it to finish later.
