- Lysosomes and Other
Killers! The lysosomes are vesicles produced by the Golgi apparatus. These sacs have digestive enzymes which can absorb toxins but also can eventually lead to the death of the cell. Estrella Mountain Community College has a diagram of lysosomes being produced. Scroll down or up to witness the functions more cell organelles.
- Microtubule Structure
Are you up for a challenge? The University of Texas Medical Branch provides a highly graphical, detailed look at cytoskeletal microtubules. These are found in cilia and flagellae. There are plenty of hyperlinks to cool topics, such as how drugs and temperature affect microtubules.
- Microtubule Construction
Create a 3-D microtubule with the click of a button. You can build and rotate a microtubule. Notice that it is made up of the same subcomponents stacked in a cylindrical form. Then you can do some critical thinking to get a better understanding of how these essential molecules work.
